Dear Editors:

Isn't it wonderful the difference the weather makes? Not only to the countryside, but to people. Everyone seems to smile when the sun shines. I wonder why. When it rains, faces seem to match. Ever noticed? Funny thing is that during the war I was in North Africa, where the sun shone all day, and every day I longed to see the green fields of England and to feel the gentle rain on my forehead. When I did arrive back, it was into Liverpool during a snowstorm, and I was immediately wishing to be back in the sunshine again, which goes to show we're never satisfied.
