Smorgasbord

Speaking at the Mile High Chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism, Dr. Irwin B. Levy called the term "alcoholism" vague and misleading. It has the same relationship to illness or disease in general, he said, that a smorgasbord has to food, because it is likely "to give the doctor a little bit of everything." Alcoholism, Dr. Levy stated, "encompasses more than just a single disease."
