Around AA - Items of AA Information and Experience

Letter from Viet Nam

I went to the hospital commander, and we had a very nice talk, and he has given me permission to set up a group here with a private room, and he has several referrals for me once I'm set to start. The doctors here are all for it. I need literature to get started, and I have a tape recorder. As I am a recovering alcoholic, I want to pass on the language of the heart to those who still suffer from this illness. My heart has been so filled with gratitude for what AA has done and is doing for me each day. This is such a small part that I can give back. Every day is a miracle for me, even though I am in a combat zone. I have been sober one day at a time since June 18, 1964, and this blessing--the light of life--must be given away. I can only be a messenger of God's will and try to do the best I can with His help and the help of all in AA.
