Carrying the Message

Happily for me, I have now had seven months of very contented sobriety, which is miraculous, nothing less--since during these seven months my husband left me, I became ill and had to have an operation, and indeed so many things happened which would have driven a normal person to drink. I began to feel rather like a punch-drunk boxer who, every time he struggles to his feet, receives another thump--right between the eyes.
