Cop-out (says the writer)

The author of "Lo-Hoc-La" [page 3 in this issue] wishes to thank his own thieving subconscious mind for its excellent taste, if dubious ethics, in stealing a basic idea from Dr. Ruth Fox. The writer had no conscious memory of having heard, eight years ago, a lecture by Dr. Fox in which she dramatically expressed certain characteristics of alcoholism. Reading "Imagine Such a Disease. . ." by Dr. Fox, in the October Grapevine, served as a shock treatment, revealing that "Lo-Hoc-La" is clearly a far-out but unconscious manipulation of Dr. Fox's basic concept.
