About Alcoholism - Alcoholism Information, Research and Treatment

Only Five Million?

It is estimated that there are approximately five million alcoholics in the United States. I haven't the slightest bit of faith in these statistics. In fact, I am convinced that all of the statistics I have seen are low of the mark. Today, these same experts are still talking about 50,000 alcoholics. Whether or not the original estimate was conservative, I am convinced that there has been a significant increase in alcoholism almost everywhere in the past ten years.
