Dialysis: a Sobering Thought for Alcoholics

The chronic alcoholics who end up in Baltimore City Hospitals are getting fast service these days. Instead of being sent to bed on the drunk ward for a four- to six-day sobering-up, they are being treated on a kidney dialysis machine. In six hours, they are completely sober; in 24 hours, they are back on the street.
