Around AA - Items of AA Information and Experience
When the 1969 convention of the American Medical Association was held in the summer in New York City, AA was represented for the first time, with a display among the Scientific Exhibits at the Coliseum. This was the GSO display used at many other such gatherings: a large, three-paneled bulletin board, designed by the General Service Board's Public Information Committee. Volunteers recruited by New York Intergroup's PIC "manned" the booth--that is, each AA team on the morning or afternoon shift was usually made up of a man and a woman, members of groups in the metropolitan area.
