An AA-AMA First

When the 1969 convention of the American Medical Association was held in the summer in New York City, AA was represented for the first time, with a display among the Scientific Exhibits at the Coliseum. This was the GSO display used at many other such gatherings: a large, three-paneled bulletin board, designed by the General Service Board's Public Information Committee. Volunteers recruited by New York Intergroup's PIC "manned" the booth--that is, each AA team on the morning or afternoon shift was usually made up of a man and a woman, members of groups in the metropolitan area.
