The Britannica Underrates Us

Thanks to the Afro-American, a chain of newspapers in several Eastern cities, GSO caught the Encyclopedia Britannica in a slight goof. These papers had quoted the Britannica: "Alcoholics Anonymous now has more than 600 chapters throughout the world." When GSO saw the clippings, it hastened to update the statistics: "The Fellowship of AA now has more than 14,000 groups in 90 different countries around the world." And the Afro-American chain was kind enough to print the correction as a second news item, headed "Britannica Oops."
