FWI Findings in FAA Tests

Almost one-fifth of the pilots involved in a group of fatal light-aircraft accidents had significant alcohol or drug content in blood or tissue autopsy specimens, according to toxicology tests performed by a Federal laboratory. Biological specimens from 123 pilots yielded 18 cases where an alcohol content of 50 milligrams percent or higher was measured.
