Reasons (or excuses) for "refalls

Our young AA group is experiencing slips ("refalls," as the Brazilians call them) at the rate of two or three per month. The return of the slipper to a group meeting invariably touches off a variety of reactions, including both admonitions aimed at his moment of weakness and eulogies for his having had the good sense to return. The discussion on the cause of each particular slip bounces back and forth across our round table with fervor.
