To Newcomers in England--and Everywhere

All of us need to be found by you, and you need us - This Is AA Around the World. . .

CONSIDERABLE freedom has come to me recently through realizing the phoniness of those fears and hates which I enlarge willfully at times, allowing them to eat little holes in the gift of sobriety that has been given me. How long it has taken me to discover that, when I ask for serenity to accept the things I cannot change, I may be surprised by getting it. And that having the courage to change the things I can may, for me, mean throwing away a critical attitude towards someone else, and knowing myself to be responsible for my attitude.
