MOTHER and daughter got on the bus. Mommy's arms were full of packages, so the little girl had the fare clenched in her grubby fist. She went up to the driver and explained in a clear, cutting, little-girl voice that carried all the way to the back row of the bus, "I'm paying. My mommy's loaded."
