What about 'sensitive' jobs?

Nine months after becoming an AA member, I applied for a job with the United Kingdom Atomic Power Authority. Wonder of wonders, I got an interview! I knew I would have to be screened, and so, muck or nettles, I dived in. Almost before the personnel manager had time to question me, I said, "I am an alcoholic. I am a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. I haven't had a drink since I joined nine months ago!" Our conversation then ran on question-and-answer lines about the workings of AA. I was sent to see the doctor, and I told him, too, that I was an alcoholic. Apparently my health, was okay, because I got the job.
