Borrowing the Program

What about organizations that adapt the general recovery principles of AA to combat problems other than alcoholism? This familiar question was raised by a California member who wrote to the General Service Office in concern over a newspaper article linking AA and Neurotics Anonymous. As it turned out, the story merely said that some AA members had agreed to attend a meeting of the other group: "Discussed will be the ways in which Neurotics Anonymous can help individuals in the manner in which AA renders aid." The AAs had done this as a gesture of cooperation, certainly not affiliation.
