About Alcoholism - Alcoholism Information, Research and Treatment
In a paper by Ronald J. Catanzaro, MD, and Willie Gray G., a telephone therapist, WATS is suggested as a useful means of helping alcoholics to maintain sobriety after release from hospitals or clinics. "The WATS line (Wide Area Telephone Service) is a system of long-distance communication readily available to any treatment center. Via this line, one can call long-distance to anywhere within a given geographical boundary 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for a flat yearly fee."
