My Name Is Charlotte
WHEN I first came to AA, it was a drag--these people were sober! I went back out and beat myself some more. Finally, the day came when I couldn't stand myself any longer. God wouldn't let me die, as I'd asked, and I had to try once more. I did not know one thing about sober living. Like us all, I would get sober if I got too sick or if the money ran out and the live ones disappeared or if I was locked up--a sobriety of sorts, but most miserable.
