Around AA - Items of AA Information and Experience
Harriet R. of Miami, Fla., passes along a clipping from the Miami Herald that triggers some AA ideas, though the item does not mention alcoholism. In his "Your Health" column. Dr. George C. Thosteson refers to a book called The Cry for Help! and states, "That is what a suicide attempt usually is a desperate means of saying, 'Won't somebody help me in my misery?. . .But if I don't get help, I'm willing to take the chance of dying.'" As many another alcoholic might, Harriet says, looking back. "It fits me!"
