Carrying the Message

As two daughters see it

What I want to get across to parents and teenagers both is: Don't put too much pressure on either side. For the parent who is an alcoholic, it is fine to attend meetings, but please don't overdo it. I grew up hating AA because my father was either at church or at AA. He didn't have time for his children, so I got into trouble with school authorities to get his attention. I am saying to parents: Make time to be with your children--it is important.
