Insurance Outpaces Hospitals

Although the American Hospital Association has recommended that general hospitals accept alcoholics for treatment, a recent survey has shown that two-thirds of the general hospitals in the United States do not admit patients for alcoholism. Medical coverage is. . .becoming increasingly available through some health-protection sources. For example, a survey in 1969 disclosed that benefits are available through some 75% of the Blue Shield and Blue Cross Plans in the United States.
