A 24-Hour Plan


VANCOUVER, B.C.--Instead of charging a driver whom he suspects of being under the influence of drink, a [British Columbia] policeman may ask him to hand over his license voluntarily. If he agrees, the driver is sent home--without his car--and the license is kept at police headquarters, where it can be reclaimed 24 hours later.
