Carrying the Message

The thing I have had to live with that has bugged me the most is the knowledge that I turned away from my beloved wife and children. No man in his right mind would have deliberately walked away from as wonderful and beautiful and lovable a woman as she. But I did. She did all in her power to hold that marriage together, but I got some crazy idea that she was against me, and I walked out--after I had had my last drink. When I realized what a fool mistake I had made, I was too ashamed to go to them and ask forgiveness.
