New York's Top Addiction Problem

Though many newspapers have run series on alcoholism, a three-part series by Kitty Hanson in New York City's Daily News was notable because this paper has the highest circulation in the U.S., over 2,100,000. Covering the subject as both a personal and a civic problem, the articles emphasized the scarcity of resources, but each day boxed three numbers to "Call for Help": those of the New York Council on Alcoholism, AA Intergroup, and the Alcoholism Recovery Institute.
