The Beautiful-woman Drunk

We charmed the total stranger into buying us a drink

WHEN I CAME into AA, I had no intention of quitting drinking--I figured I was doing all right. After all, I had been working for eighteen years, slinging hash, and I was managing. Mind you, I had absolutely nothing to show for that eighteen years, except a beat-up car that I hadn't even paid for, but I was doing all right. No clothes, no money, no home, no real friends to speak of, mentally and physically pooped, but I was doing all right!
