I Found It Impossible
I AM AN ALCOHOLIC banker in a small town--population about 1,000. I have found it impossible for me to keep my anonymity. I was born and raised in this village and have lived in it practically all my life. Everyone knew that I drank, and everyone knew that I became a drunkard and was arrested and committed to the state hospital by my wife. During my seven-week confinement in the hospital, all desire to drink left me, and as yet I have never had that desire again.
