I Let It Be Known

WHEN I saw J. at that AA meeting some months ago, I was not surprised. He used to arrive at the office with the shakes, looking gravely spent. One day, I walked with him a way and told him a little about the drinking I had done and that I was an alcoholic. He was interested and said he wouldn't mind looking at the literature I said I would get for him if he wished. The next day I sent him a meeting list and the pamphlet "Is AA for You?," with the twelve questions. After receiving them, he thanked me as we passed in the hall--and never spoke to me again. A few months later, he was fired. Soon after that, I saw him at the meeting.
