'Too much hope'?
The word "alcoholic" is a word I do not like. I prefer to say that the man has a problem. This particular man has a drinking problem; another man has a financial problem; the third has marital problems; so we can easily say "the person with a problem." I'll go further. Who has not got a problem? Again, this is something which makes us all equal.
