Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery
THE POLICE broke open the burning hotel room door to find a sot sleeping peacefully under the blazing covers of his bed. After rescuing him, they trotted him down to the hoosegow. The drunk promptly fell asleep while the cops debated what to charge him with. Someone mentioned arson, whereupon the lush's eyes popped open and he said, "Now don't go accusing me of arson. That bed was on fire when I got into it!"
