Once Over Lightly
Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery
EUPHEMISM DEPT.: A euphemism is a word--usually a nice word--used to mean another that is not so nice. It's a soft way of saying what you want to say without ever saying it. For example, radio stations--at least around our way--are forbidden to use frank words like "liquor," "hooch," "booze," and such. Instead, they have to resort to words like "beverage" and "refreshments."
