Carrying the Message

At an AA meeting several years ago, I heard a speaker say that he had so much trouble with the program for a couple of years that in his group it was considered a slip to sit next to him. Everyone laughed, and so did I. Later, at home and alone, I thought about it. It did not seem funny any more. I thought of my ten years as a loser around AA.
