Dedicated local public-information work being done in many places is typified by the programs of Rhode Island's Central Service Committee. In a sample four months of this year, the committee sent AA speakers to talk to 57 audiences, including those at 43 high schools and six colleges. The impact of this personal approach is illustrated in a letter the committee received from Mrs. Lorraine L. Kane:
