Well on His Way

For most people, three or four drinks in an evening is moderation. But the man who feels that without his three nightly drinks he will collapse is "well on his way [to alcoholism]," says Dr. Frank A. Seixas, medical director of the National Council on Alcoholism. Adds Dr. Morris Chafetz, director of the new Federal National Division on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, "The issue is not how much you drink but what alcohol means to your life--what role it plays in your life-style."
