Carrying the Message

A two-way street

For many years, I have felt that there are far too many closed minds on the subject of alcoholism and its treatment. I mean this to apply both ways, on the part of the lay and professional people toward the alcoholic and on the part of the alcoholic toward them. It is an undesirable situation, and I feel that we, as counselors on alcoholism and at the same time nonpracticing alcoholics, are in a most unique position to lead the way to correct it.
