New Help for Women

The first halfway house in Washington, D.C., to accept women alcoholics, as well as men, is approaching the one-year mark. It opened last December in a narrow, converted apartment building at 1922 16th St. N.W. It already had 19 male residents. Now the top two floors, with 11 beds, have been set aside for women.
