Sleeping It Off Forever

Each year, carbon monoxide poisoning inside cars kills about 500 people. Maryland researchers, reporting in the American Journal of Public Health, attributed the seepage of the gas to damaged, defective, or badly designed exhaust pipes. Studying the circumstances of such deaths during one year, the researchers found that half of the victims had been drinking and were sleeping it off.
