Let This Faith Be Ours

THE YEARS have slipped by since AA found me and I found a God whom I could understand. They have been good years, satisfying and productive years, with warm, rich friendships and loves that I never imagined could exist. But, as a human being, with defects of character that I had never gotten around to using, I think I was growing pretty smug, until my Higher Power, who knows me so well, punctured my balloon, probably smiling at the time--for my God does smile.
