Our Preamble, read at most AA meetings, says in part that "we are self-supporting through our own contributions." Rarely have our group contributions given us the right to make that statement. Looking back over the last 10 years, I see that group contributions have not met the budget for the General Service Office for a single year. The percentages by which the contributions failed to meet the budget ranged from 4% to 13% during the 10-year period.
