Hear the Word

I can recall my "dry bones" look when I first walked into an AA meeting and sat on my hands. Clearly, there was no earthly valley so desolate as my life was then; it was like the famous scene in Ezekiel (Chapter 37). But I didn't take the first drink. One day, as I listened better to the AAs, I truly began to "hear the word of the Lord." Once I heard, I began to practice what I heard, and the prophecies given early in AA's Big Book started--and continued--to come true. There is no restriction on the results, except those which I impose myself, so I try to "hear the word" and improve one day at a time.
