Once Over Lightly

A COUPLE of our anecdotes concern buses. In the first case, the bus was badly crowded by the pre-Christmas rush, with passengers packed even into the aisle. One of them, a thoroughly lubricated man, became aware that the heavy-set woman next to him was standing on his foot. When he politely protested to her, she snapped, "Why don't you put your foot where it belongs?"
