MAYBE IT WAS while waiting for that same bus that a shabby, down-at-the-heels derelict dropped a brown paper bag containing a fifth of liquor. As he sadly looked down at it, smashed and leaking on the sidewalk, he moaned, "Oh, oh, Christmas come and gone!"
