We're not necessarily going to get everything we want

WHEN I WAS a young girl, with five sisters and brothers and a hardworking mother and father, I would often go to my father with requests for a new formal for a dance, a new record player, a new bike, etc., etc. I would always precede these requests with "Dad, I want. . ."
