The 'pure alcoholics'

After almost having a nervous breakdown, I found out that I was a schizophrenic, and my doctor told me I would have to be on tranquilizers the rest of my life. I tried to live with this knowledge of myself, but I couldn't, so in 1962, I had my first drink. Then my nightmare started--mixing drugs and alcohol. If those AAs who consider themselves "pure alcoholics" knew the hell of taking pills and alcohol, they would know why I need the AA program even more than they do, if possible.
