The Power and the Glory

IN THE PROCESS of twelfth-stepping my latest pigeon, my third in one and a half years of sobriety in the program, I learned a rather stark lesson--I'm closer to a drink than I thought I was. Perhaps there are some AAs so emotionally cleared up that they can take on the responsibility of this important aspect of the Twelve Steps after this length of sobriety. It's now apparent to me that I'm not one of them.
