Navy Seminars

The National Council on Alcoholism Medical Department, in cooperation with the Department of the Navy, has been conducting two-day seminars at key naval training stations throughout the U.S., to inform medical personnel of effective treatment and rehabilitation programs for alcoholism, with specific guidelines for making the program operative in the Navy. Five professionals presented the scope, nature, and diagnosis of alcoholism, physiology of the disease, treatment of the withdrawal syndrome, the role of the counselor, and an overview of long-range therapies.
