Around AA - Items of AA Information and Experience
Mark a first two years in a row for prison AA. September 30, 1972, and May 6, 1973, are the dates involved. Never before had a member of a prison AA group been permitted to cross a state line to attend a meeting of an "outside" AA group. Many people, both AAs and nonalcoholic friends, may be credited for helping to set this precedent, with the Tattnall Group in Reidsville, Ga., playing delighted host to visitors from the Hope Group, which meets in a Florida prison. It is hoped that the procedure will be followed elsewhere, to create wider understanding between "Free World AA" and the "Inside World of AA."
