The Anecdote Bin
FROM THE Associated Press we glean the story of the Missouri man who staggered into court with ten sacks of empty beer cans and whiskey bottles. The Magistrate was pleased. Why? The man had previously pleaded guilty of driving "imprudently" while drinking and had been offered a choice between a sojourn in the sneezer and collecting empties along the highway. The Magistrate said that if enough drunk cases were sent his way, he'd have the roads clean as a whistle. Maybe. Around our neck of the woods it would take too many flotsam to clean up the jetsam.
