TO ME, AAs aren't ordinary human beings, because they've all been so near death, it seems spooky they're still alive and healthy. To me, they're weird, like those rare people still living ten years after the cure of their "incurable" cancer. AAs are peculiar because, to keep alive and stay healthy, they must all get to be "doctors." Without benefit of an MD, they far surpass the power of MD'S over chronic alcoholism.
