Is this show biz?

Years ago, two men sat down together to help each other to stay sober. From that simple beginning, AA has grown to its present membership of over 650,000. As I imagine it, AA was meant to be humble, quiet, modest, and self-effacing. It was not thought of or imagined as large herds of self-congratulating egos, or a showcase for undiscovered theatrical or stand-up-comic talent. It was not meant to entertain, but to share experience at the deepest level possible, a sharing of peers, in which the shyest and most withdrawn personality was as recognized and valuable as the most voluble extrovert.
