THE FELLOW in this story either hadn't taken any with him, or had run out of cash during a long evening's drinking in a certain bar. At any rate, he had built up quite a tab by the time he confessed to the bartender that he was broke. "It's okay," replied the latter. "I'll just write your name and the amount you owe here on the wall, and you can pay it later."
