They Cared Who I Was

One thing above all came through to this frightened, hopeless youngster

SOME TIME ago, I was a practicing addict, standing around by a church. An older man, whom I knew slightly, was walking in with sonic other people. He stopped and spoke to me. To my surprise, he was aware of my drug abuse and subsequent addiction, and asked me if I would be interested in going to a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous.
